Having spent significant time in Senegal, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for both the culture and the food. Once I learned the story behind Waly Fay and the inspiration behind the menu, I knew it was a restaurant I had to try. It exceeded every expectation. In fact, I loved it so much that I ate there twice during my stay in Paris. The food is outstanding. The suya was packed with flavor and perfectly spiced. The jollof rice was everything it should be—rich, fragrant, and impossible to stop eating. The grilled chicken yassa was phenomenal, with the perfect balance of tangy, savory flavors, and the pepper soup was deeply comforting with just the right amount of heat. Honestly, I wanted to order the entire menu. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive throughout both visits, making the experience even better. And let’s not forget the drinks—strong, well-made, and definitely not skimpy on the pour. Waly Fay gave me a taste of the flavors I fell in love with in Senegal, right in the heart of Paris. It was one of my favorite meals of the trip, and a restaurant I’ll return to every time I’m in the city.
